Hope and the Scottish School System
This theatre performance followed by a participatory workshop has been devised in collaboration with educational consultants and is suitable for pupils in P6 & 7. and S1 - S2 (although other year groups may be included if numbers permit).
The project uses the issue of Bullying to explore Emotional and Social Health issues of Relationships, Decision-making and Friendship to enhance the four capacities as outlined in A Curriculum for Excellence. In particular it focuses on Effective Contributors and Responsible Citizens through the following outcomes.
Effective Contributors
- To be able to consider options
- To form an opinion
- To contribute verbally in a discussion/forum
- To develop decision-making skills
Responsible Citizens
- To use a democratic process
- To understand the values of respect, equality and fairness
- To develop skills to enable the individual to respond to peer pressure
In addition, the workshop will develop pupils’ listening and talking skills (Strands – Listening, Talking in Groups), levels C-E.
